Seif is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Thndr, an investment platform that simplifies the process of investing in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Thndr received regulatory approval in 2020, becoming the first to do so in Egypt since 2008. Thndr aims the pioneer digital investment and unlock the huge untapped potential in Egypt by addressing the decades-long issues surrounding account opening, account funding and financial literacy.
Prior to that, Seif was part of Uber’s MENA team. He was initially part of the Egypt operations team where he focused on marketplace efficiency and was tasked with maintaining a consistent balance between supply of drivers and demand by riders. Seif later transitioned to a regional role and led on Airports, Premium Products and Rider Experience across MENA – Uber’s high margin departments that are used to finance its low-cost/high-impact initiatives in the region. During his last year, Seif grew premium bookings by 34% YoY to reach USD ~ 80mn, grew airport bookings by 42% YoY to reach USD ~ 108 mn and launched Uberlite & Agent Initiated Dispatch to service the underserved segments in the region.
Prior to that, Seif was part of Cl Capital’s investment banking team where he advised on transactions worth EGP ~2bn – including Cairo 3A’s acquisition of National Company for Maize Product and Madinet Nasr’s GDR offering the London Stock Exchange.
Seif holds a Master’s in management from IE Business School and Bachelor is Science in Construction Engineering from the American University in Cairo.
