Egyptian Exhange Rings the Bell for Egypt’s Children

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) held a ringing of bell ceremony on the occasion of the Orphans’ Day.

The event was held in recognition of the importance of the business community’s involvement in enhancing social responsibility as one of the most important tools for achieving economic development.

The occasion was attended by Mr. Mohamed Farid, EGX Chairman, Dr. Ali Gomaa, former Grand Mufti of Egypt & Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Misr Al Kheir Foundation’, a number of listed companies and about children from different orphanages.

Mr. Mohamed Farid said that hosting that event for the third consecutive year emphasis EGX’s keenness in its social responsibility role.  He pointed that CSR activities are essential for overall economic development process in a sustainable manner.

From his part, Dr. Aly Gomaa said that the stock market is a basic financing platform for the economic growth and job creation contributing to improve the living standards of Egyptians. He said that Misr El Kheir is planning to launch 5 charity funds to finance projects in various sectors such as education and health for human development and protection from poverty.
EGX initiated a donation campaign to which 15 listed companies responded.  Their contribution was praised and appreciated by EGX Chairman.

Farid continued, “EGX management will continue to organize the event every year to meet the needs of a large number of NGOs serving the community and to provide assistance for the neediest sectors”.
