On this occasion, H.E. Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani assured that one of the key competitive advantages of the Kingdom of Bahrain is Bahrain’s human capital who are tech-savvy, young, educated, and bilingual, and that’s what TradeQuest aims to nurture.
“We strongly belief in the boundless potential of young talent, empowering them with practical skills to better equip them for the future,” the Minister added.
On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse, Shaikh Khalifa Bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa thanked H.E. Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani for his patronage of the ceremony. Sh. Khalifa also thanked H.E. the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain for his attendance and support to the TradeQuest Awards Ceremony throughout the past 21 years.
Shaikh Khalifa said, “This is the 21st edition for the TradeQuest Program, and we are happy to see the growing interest in the TradeQuest Program over the years, with a widening group of participants year on year.
“TradeQuest is one the major programs Bahrain Bourse offers to the youth, and comes in line with the implementation of one of the key pillars of its strategy which focuses on enhancing investment awareness.” Sh. Khalifa added.
At the end of the ceremony, H.E. Rasheed Mohammed Al-Maraj, the CBB Governor presented the awards to the top three finalists of each category. During the ceremony, this year’s TradeQuest Sponsors were honored along with the investment advisors for their extraordinary commitment towards this program.
The top three winners from the Private schools category were as follows, 1st Place – Ibn Khuldoon National School, 2nd Place – Al Noor International School, and 3rd Place – St. Christopher’s School. The top three winners from the Government schools category were as follows: 1st Place – Khawla Secondary Girls School, 2nd Place – AlNoor Secondary Girls School, and 3rd Place – Jidhafs Secondary Girls School. The top three winners from the Universities category were as follows: 1st place – Ahlia University, 2nd Place – BIBF, and 3rd Place – Royal University for Women.
The 2018-2019 TradeQuest program includes a total of 18 school teams (including Private and Government Schools) and 6 universities; private schools are: Abdul Rahman Kanoo International School, Bahrain School, Al-Hekma International School, Ibn Khuldoon National School, Naseem International School, New Millennium School, Al Noor International School, St. Christopher’s School, and Al Wisam School, and the Government Schools are: Ahmed Al Omran Secondary Boys School, Al-Istiqlal Secondary Girls School, Jidhafs Secondary Girls School, Khawla Secondary Girls Schools, Al Noor Secondary Girls School, Saar Secondary Girls School, Shaikh Isa bin Ali Secondary Boys School, Sitra Secondary Girls School, and Al Ta’awon Secondary Boys School. The participating universities are: Ahlia University, Arab Open University, Bahrain Polytechnic, BIBF, Royal University for Women, and the University of Bahrain.

TradeQuest is a simulated business-education partnership program provides participating students a real-life simulation experience of capital market investment by learning the systems and regulations implemented at both Bahrain Bourse and NYSE, analyzing and selecting which shares to invest in, and managing a portfolio of shares.Under the patronage of H.E. Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani, the Minister of Industry, Commerce, & Tourism and the Minister in Charge of Bahrain Bourse and in the presence of H.E. Rasheed Mohammed Al-Maraj, the CBB Governor, the final TradeQuest Awards Ceremony was held on Sunday, 21st April 2019 where high school & university students taking part in the TradeQuest Program, organized by Bahrain Bourse, were honored at the ceremony with top finalists receiving a total of BD 30,000 cash reward.
