The Smart Investor program’s workshops will be delivered across 80 schools, both Government and Private schools with the support of 166 educators and volunteers targeting 5000 students within Grade 4 elementary level throughout the academic year. The Smart Investor in its first edition was able to exceed outreach targets by 30 %.
Commenting on this occasion, Shaikh Khalifa Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse stated: “Financial literacy and investor education is a core mission and goes hand in hand with Bahrain Bourse’s efforts to promote transparency and trust in capital markets. The Smart Investor program aims to provide the opportunity to younger audience for a more inclusive financial journey and paves the way for a healthy market start with financial literacy concepts forming a key part of their academic content.”

On the impact of the program, Hana Sarwani, INJAZ Bahrain Executive Director stated: “Enhancing Financial Literacy education and knowledge is one of INJAZ’s strategic pillars and the Smart Investor Program succeeded in creating a stimulating environment for the students to learn the fundamentals of financial planning and management at a very young age. The program was well perceived by the Ministry of Education and all the volunteers who found the content to be conclusive and an integral part of youth education and awareness. INJAZ Bahrain is looking forward to introducing the digital version of the program in the coming academic year which shall further match the trending needs of the market.”
The Smart Investor program is a national awareness program launched in 2018 in collaboration with INJAZ Bahrain targeting elementary students. The program aims at equipping young students with basic concepts related to money management, savings and smart financial planning through interactive edutainment activities in order to assist them in making sound financial decisions.
The Program consists of seven-themed sessions designed to equip students with the following concepts: Thinking, Specifying, Planning, Execution, Saving, Progression, and Evaluation.

It is worth noting that earlier this month, Bahrain Bourse ‘Rang the Bell for Financial Literacy’ alongside 30 other global stock exchanges to enhance financial literacy and investment awareness through various programs and initiatives which includes TradeQuest (22 years), Smart Investor (2 years), and Investment Academy (2 years).
