Vice President, Head of Sustainability, Dubai Financial Market (DFM), Chair of the DFM Sustainability Committee, the World Federations of Exchanges (WFE) Sustainability Working Group and the Dubai Sustainable Finance Working Group, as well as Member of various Advisory Groups.
Shyrose has over 20+ years’ experience in corporate brand development, integrated marketing communications and sustainability best practices in London and the Middle East, shaping the reputations of corporate brands within media and financial services. Spearheading the sustainability agenda across the exchange and the wider financial industry for over 5 years, Shyrose was instrumental in the exchange joining the United National Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) initiative in early 2016 and developing Dubai’s capital markets into a leading sustainable financial hub. Shyrose is the Chairperson of the region’s first industry-led Dubai Sustainable Finance Working Group. Launched in July 2019 by DFM and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the Group includes 16 members from leading private and listed companies, banks, and institutions in Dubai. She was also appointed Chairperson of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) Sustainability Working Group in 2019.
Shyrose’s advocacy work includes participation in Advisory Groups with the UN SSE and Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI) contributing to two global Reports: UN SSE “How Regulators can support the Sustainable Development Goals”, and “How Exchanges can Embed Sustainability within their Operations”, and the CFA Institute and PRI report on “ESG Integration in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa: Markets, Practices, and Data”. Shyrose is an active member of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) Initiative Advisory Group and UAE Sustainable Investment Working Group in which she was instrumental in the launch of the UAE Guiding Principles for Sustainable Finance in January 2020, and a member of the Dubai Islamic Economic Development Centre Green Sukuk Working Group and the UAE Sustainability Majlis. At DFM, Shyrose is the Chairperson of the DFM Sustainability Committee and a member of the DFM Smart Borse Committee supporting the Dubai 2021 Vision to become a smart city through the digital transformation of DFM. She is also an advisor to the DFM Women Council and CSR department at DFM.
In her previous role as Vice President, Head of Corporate Communications at Dubai Financial Market (DFM), Shyrose led the communications strategy and brand reputation of DFM since 2009. She shaped various first-of-a-kind initiatives including the first eBoard platform from a global exchange in collaboration with the Dubai Women Establishment to support female representation on listed company Boards and the first “Guide on IPO Communications” based on her extensive advisory work with companies seeking to go public. Her strategic leadership and development of financial communications teams, led to her achieving “Distinguished Leader 2014” DFM Chairman Award. Prior, since 1997 to 2008, Shyrose developed and led communications and marketing teams within media for MEED, Emap Middle East and Bauer Media in the United Kingdom (UK).
In 2019, Shyrose was appointed as the United Arab Emirates Ambassador by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), UK.
Shyrose holds a Master’s in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies from the UK. She is also a qualified Investor Relations Officer from the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA).
