Rafael is the Secretary General of the European
Association of CCP Clearing Houses (EACH), the trade
organisation that represents the interests of European
CCPs. A government affairs professional with over 20
years of experience in the financial services industry,
Rafael has also represented the interests of regulated
market at FESE and worked for the European Parliament
as well as in investment consulting.
He is a Member of the Consultative Working Group for
ESMA's CCP Policy Committee, an Editorial Board
member of the Journal of Securities Operations &
Custody and Vice-President and Chair of Leadership
Circle at the European Society for Association
Executives. He has also been an Invited lecturer on CCP
Clearing at the Solvay School of Economics and
Management.
Rafael studied Business and Economics at Universidad
Loyola Andalucia (Spain) and The University of
Birmingham (UK) and holds a master’s degree in
European Economics from the Free University of
Brussels (Belgium).
