Michèle Carlsson is the Managing Director of Nasdaq in
the Middle East and Africa and a non-executive member
of board of directors. Michèle has been representing
Nasdaq based in Dubai since 2009. Her focus is bringing
Nasdaq’s capital markets expertise to the region, by
building relationships and being the ambassador for
Nasdaq, making sure that clients receive the attention
and care that they deserve. Michèle has always had a
client-centric approach, ensuring Nasdaq’s customers
receiving the support they need, to thrive and
implement best practices. With over 30 years of
experience in the intersection between technology and
finance, Michèle brings unique skills and capabilities to
Nasdaq and the development and growth of the Middle
Eastern and African capital markets.
Michèle started her career in 1985, after studying
Information Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Prior to
relocating to the GCC, Michèle held various managerial
positions at Nasdaq and has experiences is in a wide
variety of disciplines such as being the CTO of a joint
venture between Nasdaq and the Egyptian Stock
Exchange. A three years engagement that brought
Michèle and her family to live in Egypt before moving to
the UAE. Prior to Nasdaq, Michèle worked as a system
developer at the Stockholm Stock Exchange, the
Swedish Credit Agency UC and the Publisher Esselte DC.
