The Saudi Stock Exchange Holds a Series of Awareness Workshops for its Members, and Licensed Parties, Prior to its Market Opening
May 01, 2015
Further to the Capital Market Authority (CMA) final version of regulations, mechanisms and procedures related to the Saudi Stock Exchange opening of its market to qualified foreign investors; the Saudi Stock Exchange has held series of workshops for its members, and its market licensed parties, to ensure their readiness - and the fulfillment of all internal procedures prior to the opening of the Saudi Market.
The workshop agenda included:
-          A summary of the goals underlying the opening of the market to foreign investments
-          A list of the mechanisms and procedures to be completed by foreigners
-          Clarifications of the reports published by the Saudi Stock Exchange, on its website, related to the investment restrictions and the ownership ratios
It is worth mentioning that ever since the CMA issued the draft of the foreign investments rules and regulations, the Saudi Stock Exchange held five workshops, with its listed companies, to raise the awareness and readiness, especially on the corporate governance and investors’ relations level.
Representatives from the CMA attended these highly interactive workshops and answered the audience enquiries.
