Qatar Stock Exchange and Carnegie Mellon Qatar Sign Memorandum of Understanding Cooperation in the Fields of Education, Training and Specialized Conferences

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and CarnegieMellon University in Qatar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote future collaborations between the two organizations.
 
The MoU was signed by Qatar Stock Exchange’s CEO, Rashid Bin Ali Al Mansouri, and Ilker Baybars, Dean of Carnegie Mellon Qatar. The two parties have pledged to work together to collaborate in the fields of education, scientific research and community development.
 
The MoU boosts collaboration between the two organizations in the fields of scientific research, scholarships and professional training to Carnegie Mellon Qatar students, and executive education to Qatar Stock Exchange staff promoting the exchange of professional and scientific expertise in the fields of computer science, business administration, information systems and public policy.
 
In addition, the MoU outlines the benefits of hosting joint conferences, seminars and specialized workshops to encourage students to volunteer in Qatar stock Exchange initiatives and serve the local community.
 
Carnegie Mellon Qatar, under the memorandum, will provide consultancy and hold seminars and training courses.
 
Al-Mansoori welcomed the signing of the agreement as a basis for close cooperation with Carnegie Mellon Qatar, in order to supplement the stock market with the university’s talent pool. The agreement will also see the training of Qatar Stock Exchange personnel through programs that enhance professional, scientific, and investment awareness among the financial community in Qatar.
 
Al-Mansoori said: “This agreement comes within the framework of the role played by Qatar Stock Exchange in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 and the commitment of Qatar Stock Exchange to continue what this vision is built upon starting from Qatari principles of openness to modernity, adopting new technologies to serve the goals of development and economic progress, and emphasizing the role of Qatar Stock Exchange in serving the local, regional and global community”.
 
Al-Mansoori pointed out that this cooperation is a continuation and culmination of education and awarenessefforts undertaken by QE in the local community.
 
Baybarssaid: “Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is very pleased to partner with Qatar Stock Exchange during this period of exceptional growth and diversification of Qatar’s economy, and we look forward to our future collaborations in education and research.”
 
Baybarsadded: “Carnegie Mellon University’s mission and vision in Qatar supports Qatar National Vision 2030, with a particular focus on the human development pillar, which aims to educate the next generation of leaders and build a prosperous society.”
 
This is the third MoU signed by Qatar Stock Exchange with a national educational institution, as they signed similar memorandums of understanding with Qatar Finance and Business Academy, and College of Islamic Studies at Hamad binKhalifa University.
