On the WFE website, Mr. Rashid Al Mansoori, CEO of Qatar Exchange (QE) shed the light on the background of  Qatar Exchange since its opening for trading in 1997 introducing the trading system, the listings and the upcoming plans.

The activeness of the foreign investors and the accessibility of the Qatari market were elaborated in terms of percentage constituents within the total turnover in the country and the DMA benefits.

Mr. Rashid Al Mansoori introduced the new projects and products that they are working on including: enhancing liquidity of the market, introducing margin trading and covering short selling regulation and initiating the first ETFs to the market. He is also hoping to shorten the settlement cycle for bonds traded on the exchange to T+1 and to see the first companies listed on Qatar dedicated SME market, the QE Venture Market (QEVM).
